Uniform of a Major of the Bourbon Gendarmerie
Extremely rare giamberga from Major of the Gendarmerie Corps of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, datable to the 1940s of the 19th century; in blue cloth with scarlet edges and backs of the tails, it keeps all its original buttons in silver or white metal bearing a crowned lily relief and the legend "Royal Gendarmerie"; complete with braided cords of silver thread and imposing shoulder straps in white metal plate embossed in scrolls, gilt symbols of the degree, fringes with closed beard in silver thread, scarlet cloth lining on the reverse; the gfiubba keeps its fine white canvas lining intact with leather trim at the waist, the frogs applied to the collar and the flaming grenades embroidered at the ends of the tails are also original; together, a perfect philological reconstruction of the regulation trousers of white cloth, made with fabric and vintage buttons following the correct shape of the time; the whole in excellent condition considering its age, with a beautiful patina and minimal ravages of time
