Portrait of Ardito del Grappa

charcoal on paper raised with white lead; in the right margin handwritten notes "Tipo di Ardito" and "Armata del Grappa"; bottom left signature of the author Memmo Genua. The work constitutes the sketch for a series of lithographic multiples made by Treves Milano in the 1920s. Memmo Genua (1885-1959) was an artist close to Futurism, after the Great War a convinced interpreter of the Regime Art. A portrait of Gabriele D'Annunzio of him is worthy of note, currently kept at the Museum of the Carabinieri in Rome. Measures 23X30 cm
