Hat of the 1st Italian Legion of Garibaldi

"Bonnet de police" type fatigue cap, which belonged to the Italian Legion in the Roman Republic of 1849; the Corps was formed by volunteers who had followed Garibaldi from South America, integrated by the influx of Italians of republican faith and citizens of Rome; in scarlet cloth with a wide green band and profiles woven in yellow silk, embroidered frieze holder depicting a cornet with monogram "I L I" (I Italian Legion); inside, raw canvas lining; the headdress has some results from tarmature however not disfiguring and appears in more than good condition considering its age; very rare relic of the Garibaldi epic
